The chief of Iran’s navy said that they are planning on placing navy vessels in international waters off the US coast in the next few years. It is meant to be an act of defiance over the international sanctions imposed on Iran for its nuclear program – but the act itself is rather pointless. I’m not entirely sure what they are hoping to accomplish in this effort, but Iran’s “navy” is far from ever rattling the sabre against the US. It is more like rattling a butter knife against a Samurai sword.
